We get to go home!!!! I called home around 1:00 p.m. today and was absolutely delighted to hear the sound of my own voice on the answering machine. Chris went home to get the water turned back on and make sure that everything was in order. I instructed him to call me as soon as he got there to confirm that we did indeed have power. He called from his cell phone, and said that it was a pretty cruel trick for me to play on him. Ha ha - don't toy with me!!! He reported that the furnace was running, and the refrigerator was cooling. The only thing that doesn't seem to be working is the computer. It seems rather insignificant right now. We are under a water boil advisory. I guess the water pressure dipped below acceptable range, and parts of Janesville were without water. So now we have to boil the water until they can get it tested and verify that it's safe. Again, it seems rather insignificant. We will all be so grateful to be home and together. AND we are so grateful to Roger and Diane for their hospitality to us - they were wonderful!! AND we are grateful to Jackie for agreeing to provide emergency shelter for Sugar when/if it became necessary. So now - on to pick up the girls and some bottled water and food and then HOME.
