Happy Birthday to my sweet Elliott!! She loves to hear the story of the day she was born. It was one of the coldest days of the year. We brought her home from the hospital and all of the grandmas and grandpas were here to celebrate her arrival. Then it started to snow, and it snowed and snowed and snowed. She loves to hear about how I would rock her in the rocking chair and she would fall asleep on me. She's still my good snuggling girl. I teased her that I was worried that she wouldn't be such a snuggler once she turned four. She reassured me with a great big hug that she was still the best snuggler this side of the Cedar.

She took cupcakes and Hi-C for her birthday treat today. After baking 4 dozen cupcakes last night, I was awfully glad that they had school this morning. They didn't have school for long though!! They dismissed at 10:30 - so she got to share her birthday treats and we got to spend the day with Elliott on her birthday. O got to take cupcakes for her class too - Elliott needed just a smidge over 2 dozen for her class - and I sure didn't want that many cupcakes lingering around our house. Olivia's class thought it was a great treat for the 100th day of school.

My dad's surgery on his right hand went well. Gotta love Dubuque - home of Betty Jane candies. Instead of sending flowers, I was able to send Gremlins. He will spend the night in the hospital tonight, his hand will be bandaged for 10 days, and then he will have it in a cast for five weeks.

I was downloading photos tonight - some great ones of Elliott in my boots. Titled them, "these boots" and "are made for walking" - which got Olivia singing the song. Her dad said, you know who sings that, don't you? Only the daughter of one of the most famous singers in the world.

Olivia perked right up. "Hannah Montana" she guessed.

Hmmm.... Hannah Montana, Nancy Sinatra... That was the best laugh I've had in a while. It helps to ease the feeling of OLDNESS!!!!

Speaking of OLDNESS - my baby is going to be 4 next week. I'm not sure where that time went. Not that I would wish to go back, but wow!

After staring out the door onto the deck, my boss leans in to ask me when it's going to stop snowing.

April, I respond.

That's what it seems anyway.

The snow is piled up well over the seats of the chairs that we often sat in for lunch during the summer. The snowflakes swirled continuously throughout the day, with big flakes for a short while.

A pretty day. Okay. But enough already!!

Seriously...
